Do I plan their Engagement Party?

First of all - does everyone need an Engagement Party? If they want one - am I supposed to plan that with the best man or does the couple themselves plan it?

    So, the bride is doing a bridal party only engagement party so I am good and cleared ;)
    This will be the first time the bride's parents and the groom's parents will have met! So awesome!
